A toast to you on my birthday!

Yes, October 8th is a special day for a brother, but I want to thank you for always being there, supporting this site, and all of my endeavors. It means a lot to me so here is a toast to you. Seriously, I appreciate ya!
And just so you know, if you don't catch me out on the Atlanta streets today, I celebrate life every day let's kick it when we cross paths.
Oh, and since October 8th gets an official shout out on this seminal, track, it has been my official birthday song since its release in 1992. Ladies and gents, here is Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth's "They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)" from their classic album, Mecca and the Soul Brother(Here is a brilliantly filmed live version where he gives the shout out at 2:12).

This is not only C.L.’s birthday as well and lyrical autobiography; it also pays homage to his late homey Troy "Trouble T-Roy" Dixon (and member of Heavy D & The Boyz), who passed in 1990. When I told C.L. this was my b-day wake-up song every year since it came out during an interview, he laughed, said it was his too, and we went on to talk a good hour about hip-hop and politics. Unforgettable.

Love y’all!

Your homey,

Ale
