Orpheus Brewing launches their new saison today!

Get ready for the hoppy Lyric saison coming at ya!

Whaddup!

So this weekend in Atlanta is going to be bananas (look for that post in a minute), but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Besides the Falcons game tonight, ATL's own Orpheus Brewing is launching another brew—the hoppy Lyric saison—at 6.5% ABV sporting a label designed by my homey Peter Ferrari (above). It is definitely pouring at The Argosy in East Atlanta today. Here is the official press release below. Show them some love!
Oh, and have you been to their brewery yet? It is in a majestic location right off Piedmont Park (see above). Take a trip over via car or bikewhich is a really popular optionand get your sip on safely.

Orpheus Brewing Releases Second Year-Round Beer
Atlanta’s Newest Brewery Launches Lyric Ale on August 8

On Friday, August 8, Orpheus Brewing unveils their second year-round beer, Lyric Ale, a hoppy saison , dry with notes of peach and tropical fruit, ending with a silky finish and a 6.5 percent ABV. Alongside its first release, Atalanta, Lyric Ale will be Orpheus Brewing’s flagship beer.

Reflecting the brewery’s mantra of “Don’t Look Back” and namesake mythical hero, the name of “Lyric” harkens to the beautiful music of Orpheus which held power over the living, moved inanimate objects, and even held sway over the gods. The beer itself is an ode to this profound beauty, which guides everything that Orpheus Brewing does.

“We use a blend of hops from three continents and our house saison yeast,” explains Orpheus Founder and Brewmaster Jason Pellett. “It’s a harmonic balance of fruit and spice, and dry enough not to overwhelm, but strong enough in flavor to stand up to most foods. It pairs really well, especially with cheese, barbecue and fruit desserts.”

As for the Lyric Ale artwork, the brewery commissioned artist Peter Ferrari to create a muralist’s interpretation of the internal struggles of Orpheus as he emerged from Hades. The abstract design emphasizes the beauty, the forward-facing hope of Orpheus and the mythical nature that is inherent in the inspiration for the beer.

While cans will be available soon at local package and retail locations, Lyric Ale is now available on draft in area restaurants. For more information on Lyric Ale and Orpheus Brewing, visit orpheusbrewing.com.
