Barley and Mash Off 2013 is coming!

April 11th is the recipe deadline!

My man Eddie from Ale Yeah! Decatur has sent me a notice reminding all homebrewers that the 2nd annual Barley And Mash Off [BAMO] is around the corner and recipes have to be submitted by April 11th at Ale Yeah! Decatur. Collaborating with the Marlay House and Terrapin Beer Co., here is how Eddie eloquently hit me off with the details:
“BAMO is a home brew competition with a bit of a twist: a style is chosen, we order the ingredients and everybody gets together on the same day to brew their beers! This fosters camaraderie, an exchange of ideas and an all around good time.
“Last year’s beer style was a stout and this year, in honor of 4/20 and in spring, we’ll be brewing IPA’s. The tasting competition day is still TBD, but the brew day is 4/20 over at The Marlay House in Decatur. Terrapin will be on hand with beers to get us through the brew day and prizes will be awarded once our elite celebrity judges have filled in the ballots. The overall winner will take home a custom wooden brew paddle and nobody will leave without something; if nothing else, memories, there will be memories that will last a lifetime."

The Fine Print: The cost is $35 to enter. Each team will need to provide their own equipment during the day of the brew (some equipment may be available).  Recipe forms can be picked up either at Ale Yeah! Decatur or The Marlay House.  The recipes will need to be received back at Ale Yeah! by 4/11 to ensure we can source everything.  Each team will need to bring 64 oz. of the brew to the judging.

Good luck everyone! If you have any other questions, call Ale Yeah! Decatur (404.992.2246) or email Eddie at eddie@aleyeahbeer.com. And on behalf of Cruisin’ For A Brewsin’ and all the beer enthusiasts out there, thank you homebewers for contributing to the craft making the world’s best beverage!

Cheers!
