It's going down in Atlanta tonight through Monday. Be ready!
Whaddup?!
Right off the bat, I want to say that my Ale-B-Q Beer Dinner with Sweet Auburn BBQ, Three Taverns and Creature
Comforts was INCREDIBLE! Not only did it sell out, but the food was
amazing and I received a lot of props from the pairings with the ales I picked
from the two breweries. I want to thank everyone for their support. Look for
another one coming soon.
I kick it with Creative Loafing!
On to other news and speaking of pairing beers, I am in
the new Creative Loafing that
dropped this week talking about what specific Georgia beers to pair with wings (to the right).
I hope you dig it here! I am also in
another feature where I joined a group of fellow gourmands and ranked ATL's best
wings. I, along with Brad Kaplan, Angela Hansberger, Adjoa Danso and CL Food
Editor Hilary Cadigan hit up a dozen wing spots throughout the city, ate at
least two drums or flats each, and then ranked them. It was a blast and I immediately reminisced
after reading this hilarious article here. Our comments were off the chain. Ha!
Shelton Brothers Fest and Parties
And now this weekend. Anyone heard of a little ol’
get-together called the Shelton BrothersFest? Of course, I'm being facetious; spanning today and tomorrow, this
event is going to be absolutely bananas! Just look at this lineup here. Whoa! I
hope to see you there! Gotta thank LiberatorDistributing for bringing pretty much 90 percent of these breweries to the ATL! And as if we couldn't get enough beer, Creature Comforts is collaborating with a few folks during the weekend at the jams below. Well daaaaaayumn!
2nd Annual Southern Wing Showdown
There is also the 2nd
Annual Springer Mountain Southern Wing Showdown presented by Taste of
Atlanta this Sunday, August 20th that I'm definitely hitting up.
There might be a few tickets left so check out this link.

Solar Eclipse
And then there’s that whole solar eclipse thing. ATL is
supposed to be “seeing” 97 percent of the sun covered according to one of my homies,
but I strongly advise everyone rock those special NASA-approved glasses or serious eye damage can occur.
And with this momentous happening in the works, there are a few spots hosting awesome
gatherings for us to enjoy. Here are three that struck my interest direct
from the source:
See the eclipse
from The Roof at Ponce City Market’s Skyline Park
Looking for the best place to watch history happen? Head
to The Roof at
Ponce City Market to view the Solar Eclipse on Monday, August
21. Skyline
Park will open early at 12:30 p.m. and offer eclipse glasses

lunar expert to answer all your eclipse questions. Nine Mile Station will
open early at 3 p.m.
